Welcome to Sound Baking! We're so glad you're here. I'm Meredith, the baker and owner behind Sound Baking. Custom decorated sugar cookies are my specialty, but there are very few things out there that I don't love to bake! Sound Baking is a cottage food operation serving the local Orlando, Florida area and shipping nationally. What is a cottage food operation, you may ask? Essentially, it's a home food business - Florida cottage law allows me to bake and sell cookies from my home, instead of producing my cookies in a commercial kitchen. Cottage law supports small-scale food businesses like mine, and gives me the opportunity to run a small business while still ensuring basic food safety standards are met. I hold an active Food Handler certificate (the same that is required to work in any commercial kitchen) so don't worry - your cookies are safe with me! I started Sound Baking to sweeten the lives of the people around me (and I'm so glad you're one of those people now, too!). I have always been creative and craft-y, and edible art is the perfect outlet for me. I love the fulfillment I get after designing, baking, and decorating custom sugar cookies, and I love that they can be admired with the eyes and then with the stomach! Isn't consumable art the best?? My goal is to create cookies for you that are simple, yet beautiful. I design specifically for my medium - royal icing on custom decorated sugar cookies. This allows me to maximize effect while remaining efficient in the decorating process. Aside from baking, efficiency is my other passion - I am an Industrial Engineer by education and trade - so this really speaks to me. Whether you're looking to WOW your guests, find for a gift for the person who has everything, or add a little something sweet to your own life, I would love to create the perfect cookies for you! Interested in learning more about decorated sugar cookies?! Sound Baking is here to help! In these 2-hour classes, we'll cover the basics to sugar cookies (so – yes, it’s beginner friendly!), do some piping practice with Royal Icing, talk about how to strategize the best ways to decorate sugar cookies, and cover the general concepts around dough and icing! Everything you'll need is provided at class along with a live in-person instructor – just bring a smile (and maybe an apron). <ul><li>Beginners are welcome!
