Hi Friends! Thank you for visiting our shop! So, you want to know a little about us? Well, here you go: I'm Lilly, yep, that Lilly :) I do all of the baking and most of the decorating. I've been baking for what seems like forever, but really started getting into it once I had my oldest son. I really wanted to make his birthday cake and wanted to do something more than the cakes I was making for work and friends. Then cue the Covid Pandemic. With us all quarantined at home, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to practice, try new techniques and really develop this hobby. Through lots of trial and error, I kept getting better and better, and finally, my husband (we'll talk about him in a minute), declared that he could not continue eating all of my treats single-handedly, and said it was time we took the next step, and so, on December 1, 2021, Lilly's Sweets &amp; Treats officially launched with our 12 Days of Christmas Advent Calendar cookies. Now about the husband: he wasn't just a taste tester. Richard was also my cheerleader and think tank member. When we launched, he became my official Partner-in-Bake! He's my collaborator and my pricing consultant. He jumps in to help with decorating, painting, and he's our entire fulfillment, packaging and shipping department! On top of this wonderful small business, we both work full time in Corporate America, and are raising two awesome boys who have been bitten by the baking bug and their passion for it grows daily! Welcome to Sound Baking! We're so glad you're here. I'm Meredith, the baker and owner behind Sound Baking. Custom decorated sugar cookies are my specialty, but there are very few things out there that I don't love to bake! Sound Baking is a cottage food operation serving the local Orlando, Florida area and shipping nationally. What is a cottage food operation, you may ask? Essentially, it's a home food business - Florida cottage law allows me to bake and sell cookies from my home, instead of producing my cookies in a commercial kitchen. Cottage law supports small-scale food businesses like mine, and gives me the opportunity to run a small business while still ensuring basic food safety standards are met. I hold an active Food Handler certificate (the same that is required to work in any commercial kitchen) so don't worry - your cookies are safe with me! I started Sound Baking to sweeten the lives of the people around me (and I'm so glad you're one of those people now, too!). I have always been creative and craft-y, and edible art is the perfect outlet for me. I love the fulfillment I get after designing, baking, and decorating custom sugar cookies, and I love that they can be admired with the eyes and then with the stomach! Isn't consumable art the best?? I am a self taught cookier who started making cookies as a hobby to destress and now has turned it into a full blown business. I love baking especially with my 4 kiddos.
