About Piccoline's Table

| MY STORY | Ciao! My name is Kirstin, and I am the owner and operator of Piccoline's Kitchen, based out of Marlborough, Massachusetts. My loving relationship with food began at a very young age, in my Grandparent’s kitchen in New Jersey. Before I was even old enough to understand or appreciate the initiation I was a part of, my Grandfather would have me try fresh, raw vegetables right from his humble little backyard garden. He would pick green beans, lettuce, and tomatoes still wet with dew from the cool, early mornings, and hold them right up to my mouth, never taking no for an answer. At the time, I really only understood food as being seasoned or sauced, and prepared on a plate. Yet, even being so young, as I’d crunch on a green bean, I could always see the excitement in his eyes, and could tell he wanted me to appreciate these simple pleasures as much as he did. For him, the most proud Italian man I’ve EVER met, discussing and enjoying food meant celebrating a rite and ritual, with food representing the biggest expression of our culture. He raised me on stories of my Grandma (who had passed) beginning each Sunday morning before the sun came up, in the kitchen breaking down tomatoes and rolling fresh pasta. My Grandfather Anthony Piccoline was truly the embodiment of the concept of Food = Love. To my Pop, food translates to time spent with family, laughter, conversation, and making memories. To Pop, this all happens over a warm plate of food, next to a glass of wine. I grew up finely tuning my skills at traditional Italian cooking, growing from my Grandparent’s kitchen to cooking side by side with my Mom. Then, life took a dark turn as it often does, and I found myself sick with Cancer. Once I recovered, I was faced with a new challenge. For my health, I had to find newer, healthier ways to cook classic favorites. (Although Italian / Mediterranean food isn’t considered unhealthy, I still had to find new creative ways to make healthier versions of my favorite meals). I spent years adjusting and alternating recipes, and now these newly crafted versions have become favorites as well! I feel lucky that I was able to find a happy medium of old world Italian classics and newer healthy meals. My goal was to NEVER feel like I was sacrificing, or eating “diet” food, left craving. I believe delicious food should be accessible and enjoyable even to those of us with bodies that like to fight us, as mine often does :-) Although both of my Grandparents are now gone from this world, I proudly carry on their traditions. Just as a painter carefully works to execute the exact correct shade of color for their canvas, I carefully work to perfect the exact correct browning shade for my garlic! My canvas is my plate. Eating healthy or meal prepping does NOT have to be boring or basic, and I'm here to prove it! Today, my style is a loving blend of old and new! I offer the familiar, traditional Italian favorites, unaltered and original, as WELL as healthier alternatives! Although I adore many cuisines, and like to throw a fun mix in here or there, my meals are primarily healthy-driven comfort food with strong Mediterranean influence and Italian flair. I make my meals completely from scratch, and am proud to share them with you by bringing them straight to your door!&nbsp;I truly adore what I do, and I have fun experimenting with the foods &amp; ingredients native to the many different regions of Italy! In addition to offering ready-to-eat meals and catering, I'm also excited to offer a variety of a la carte items that you may purchase as sides, or extras! All my pasta dishes are crafted with hand made pasta, no boxes in this kitchen! DELIVERY Delivery dates &amp; times will be based on order request. Currently, we offer LOCAL delivery, anywhere up to 1 hour from Marlborough, Massachusetts (**excluding Boston City at the moment**) Meals are delivered right to your doorstep in insulated heat/cold bags! (We kindly ask that on delivery days, please leave any previous bags and ice packs outside on your doorstep, and we will exchange upon delivery!) PICKUP We always allow you the option of pickup instead of delivery, free of charge! EXTRAS We also offer many extra goodies such as 'a la carte' items, should you choose to create your own culinary masterpiece at home!
