I focus on simple bases made with two or three ingredients: shortbreads (flour, butter, sugar, salt), rugelach (flour, butter, cream cheese, salt), taralli (flour, olive oil, wine, yeast, salt), Ayurvedic inspired sweets (ghee, nuts, chickpea flour, spices) and babka (flour, butter, milk, yeast, salt). Each of these provides a blank canvas to create unique sensory experiences: cumin-cracked peppercorn shortbreads, Meyer lemon-ginger pecan rugelach, parmesan-black pepper taralli, carmelized onion-toasted almond babka, are just a few examples of these bespoke bakes. I welcome you to try my home-baked treats from my tiny farm in SW Michigan, Handsœwn, where I also create one-of-a-kind garments using traditional hand-sewing methods. Simple, beautiful ingredients resulting in delightful cookies! Organic coconut, sweetened condensed coconut milk (coconut, cane sugar) Option- dipped in dark chocolate - I use Enjoy Life brand, vegan and allergen friendly😊

Vegan Coconut Macaroons (Gluten Friendly)

Aromatic and delicious, these are traditional Indian sweets made with slow roasted chickpea flour (gluten friendly!), powdered cane sugar and ghee (dairy) or oils (vegan). Stir in some cashews, golden raisins and spices results in a melt-in-your-mouth experience like none other. Our ghee based sweets are made with Goddess Ghee, the highest quality ghee containing complex and unique Ayurvedic blends.The Well Adapted ghee contains ashwaganda root and is not gluten free.

Besan Ladoo (Indian Chickpea Sweets)

These pastries start with carefully selected local, when possible, organic ingredients. The richest European cultured butter, cream cheese and organic wheat flour are the base for the dough. Simple and delightful. Rolled thin, kept cool, and paired with a variety of local fruit jams, butters and seasonal preserves layered with nuts, herbs and spices to delight and surprise your tastebuds. Rolled up, brushed with milk, sprinkled with a little sugar &amp; spice before baking. The result are rich, flaky, layered pastries filled with palate pleasing combinations of fillings!Variations are available seasonally or you can order custom bakes to your taste.

European Butter Pastries (Rugelach)

Indulge in the heavenly simplicity of Butter's Shortbread Cookies. Lovingly crafted with only the finest ingredients, each bite delivers a melt-in-your-mouth experience. With their traditional recipe, these delightful cookies are perfect for spreading joy. Options available for those with vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free preferences.

Shortbread Cookies

Lovely little crackers, similar to a breadstick and shaped like a donut, Taralli have the buttery softness of a shortbread cookie. Each cracker is lovingly rolled and shaped by hand. Taralli are traditional Italian snacks, often eaten dunked in a glass of wine. Warning: it is impossible to eat only one. Each batch contains: Organic wheat flour, olive oil, white wine and some salt. Herbs, spices and occasionally cheese are added to create unique and delicious crackers for a variety of pairings.

Tarrali - Italian Olive Oil 

Our Babka begins with a simple, enriched yeasted dough made with beautiful ingredients. Organic wheat flour and yeast is enriched with European cultured butter, organic milk, and free-range, farm-fresh organic eggs. Vegan option is available using plant based dairy and aqua faba (chick-pea liquid). The dough is mixed and kneaded for 20 minutes, then allowed to rest and rise for a few hours. Once it has doubled in size, it is divided, rolled and filled with a variety of savory or sweet fillings. It is then braided, shaped and allowed to rise once more before baking. The result is a rich pastry loaf layered with delightful fillings in each bite. Labor intensive and totally worth it!
