My Story

Welcome to Love Made This! Hi, my name is Tracey. I'm a devoted wife and loving mother of 3 blessings. I have always been the baker of the family, the journey started before I could remember. However, my gluten free journey started 7 years ago. As a mother, I always wanted to make sure my family had a balanced diet. Imagine my surprise when we all stared to get sick and it seemed to always be after we ate. Bloating, stomach aches, throwing up, fatigue, joint pain, migraines. Many months of chronicly ill children, thousands of doctor bills, and 3 rounds of steroids for my daughter later we found the “stomach flu” was the so-called culprit. I knew my kids and was not satisfied with that answer. Who would’ve thought giving my son a Cheerio would result in the “stomach flu”. I began to research; trying products, supplements, anything I could think of. Through the process of elimination and testing, we finally found the actual culprit. GLUTEN. I immediately cleaned out our pantry and went to the grocery store searching for gluten-free, just to find everything tasted horrible. I remember telling my sister, “I hate eating”. We couldn't eat goldfish crackers, the pies at Thanksgiving or cookies at Christmas. We dreaded our children being invited to kids birthday parties. It’s a tough thing to explain to your 5 year old that everyone can have cake but her. This really motivated me to want my family to enjoy eating again, to enjoy living. This was the start of my journey to learn how to bake gluten free, and to do it well. I've always enjoyed baking, but now I had a purpose to heal my families health and the give my kids a good relationship with food. Fast forward a few years - my sister called me. Her children were now diagnosed with a gluten and corn allergy. Go to the grocery store and find something without corn products. I dare you. It's almost impossible. This is when I began to further my journey, I started to avoid the most common allergens. I wasn’t just baking to help my kids, but now my sister’s children too. This made me wonder how many other people have the same issue. That was the beginning of Love Made This. Through the process, I've tested so many recipes and tried a lot of different ingredients. After 7 years, I’ve perfected my recipes and found the highest quality ingredients. I've had the privilege of having my recipes on the tables of dozens of families. Finally, families that can enjoy eating again, and they don't even know it’s gluten-free. Tracey was amazing and was able to cater to my family's dietary restrictions. She was very helpful and transparent with the ingredients she uses and where she sources them from. My kids loved the pancake mix made with coconut milk! I also bought the crackers for them but my husband and I ate them all before they could! They were so yummy! I'm looking forward to trying more things!-Brianna L. Hats off to the chef, because what you made was top notch delicious. You are very gifted and talented lady. We couldn't have been more satisfied at a 5 star restaurant. You could not tell it was Gluten free food. Kudos- Christina D. Tracey has made pies and cookies for a few different occasions for us now.
