Greetings from Kansas City! I'm Meegan... a self-proclaimed foodie, travel enthusiast, professional bakerand founder of Zest Gluten Free Bakery. From childhood to present day, baking has continually been a huge part of my life and always brought me such joy. After being diagnosed with Celiac disease 12+ years ago, I turned my passion for baking into a quest to make the BEST gluten free baked goods available. And I have succeeded! I also&nbsp;understand the challenges of finding delicious treats for specific dietary needs, like dairy-free, soy-free and vegan. Welcome to My Little Cottage! We are Darcie and Dayla, two sisters who decided to combine our passion for baking, cooking, and herbal healing. We live on a little family compound in our hometown, Kearney MO! Darcie is married to her amazing husband Cole, who together have two precious boys named Archer and Rowan. Darcie became passionate about reading ingredients and cooking/baking from scratch back in 2021 when she had her first son and realized just how poorly food at the store is made. She also loves to study herbs and makes herbal tinctures and honeys, if you have any questions about natural healing or hair health, she is your gal. Dayla is a smart, creative cat lover who truly has the hands for baking. She is the heart of My Little Cottage. Her baked goods are unlike anything you'll ever taste. She takes her time, measures perfecly, and puts her all into every single thing she bakes, she is truly a gifted baker! When she is not baking you can find her snuggled up with her kitties drawing beautiful pictures in her notebook. Miranda Vickers is a talented local home food artisan who specializes in baking. With a passion for creating delicious treats, Miranda showcases her journey in baking on her page. Recently, she returned from her travels, bursting with new ideas. Her first project since being back was a chocolate and caramel 'broken glass' cake, which she made with her friends and thoroughly enjoyed. Miranda also tried her hand at making sugar cookies and admitted that the decorating process took longer than she expected. She then showed off her skills by making a Kansas City Chiefs cake for the Super Bowl, eagerly anticipating the halftime show. Hi, welcome to my baking page! My name is Lauren and I’m an avid at home sourdough baker. Luna Bakery is my at home passion project I’m getting off the ground. I’ve been baking more than my family and friends are able to consume so I want to start selling loaves in the KC/ North KC community! I started baking sourdough after getting diagnosed with pre-diabetes and hashimotos after a tough pregnancy ending with a preeclampsia diagnosis and a difficult birth.&nbsp;When I received my diagnoses I knew I needed to mitigate inflammatory foods, and unfortunately that included gluten. I’ve been fermenting different foods like kombucha, rejuvelac, probiotic ginger beer, fire cider, and homemade apple cider vinegar for the last 12 years. It only made sense to learn how to start and maintain sourdough levain and bake amazing bread products for myself and my family so we could stop relying on store bought bread. While sourdough does still contain gluten, the fermentation process lowers the glycemic load and gluten content. I have personally found sourdough is much easier to digest, although everyone is different. I’ve loved adding sourdough baking to my fermentation knowledge and I hope my customers are happy with their loaves!

In May of 2022 our sister Danae Ella Hubbard passed away from an accidental overdose of a pill laced with Fentanyl. She was an amazing sister, daughter, and friend. She is dearly missed every single day. We share her story in hopes to help others because that's all she ever did. Did you know laced Fentanyl pills is killing thousands and thousands of young adults and even children? You won't see much about it on the media, but if you research you will find out that it is a very serious problem and taking the lives of MANY. The people who sell these laced pills, hardly ever get caught which makes it incredibly difficult to get it under control. It is not safe to take any kind of pill that has not been prescribed to you, it could take your life. Ella suffered from anxiety, depression, and BPD. She was religiously seeing a counselor, a psychiatrist, and taking prescribed medicine. She was trying so hard and battling every day. To get some relief, she would sometimes take other pills not prescribed to her, one night, she was unknowingly given a laced one, and it took her life.
