My name is Zimri! Welcome to my online bakery. I'm originally from central New Jersey. I started working in food service in 2015 and attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, graduating with my degree in baking and pastry in 2020. The name La Vie Boheme is inspired by the musical Rent (really hoping you knew that). My mom got me into musicals at a very young age and Rent was the one with the longest lasting impact on me. I loved it even before I knew I was also in the LGBT community, and before I experienced poverty as well. As I grew and started to experience a lot of the themes I had never understood fully before, I began to connect more and more with the characters and story. La Vie Boheme's values take straight from the anthem it's named after. As an immunocompromised individual, graduating weeks before the COVID-19 outbreak meant it was unsafe for me to work in the industry I trained for at the very beginning of my career.
