“Do you take Venmo?”
“Can I use PayPal?”
“I have cash for you!”
Do any of these questions sound familiar? Chances are, you’ve had several customers request to pay their invoices with another payment method besides credit card. Perhaps you’ve stood your ground and said “no." Or, maybe you said "yes" but were unsure of how to handle that quote or invoice in Castiron. You didn't want to cancel the order in Castiron, but you couldn't update it to "paid" in our system. Regardless, accepting other payment methods in Castiron has previously been… messy, both for you and for your customers.
Thankfully, there's a better way.
We are pleased to share that you are now able to mark a quote or invoice as “paid” in Castiron, regardless of how your customer chooses to pay. Confidently say “yes” to accepting card, check, Cashapp, Venmo, PayPal - you name it! No matter how your customers pay their invoice, you can rest assured that your Castiron admin can still be an accurate source of truth for your workflow.
How can I accept other payment methods?
First, it’s important that you still send all of your quotes and invoices through Castiron, even if your customer opts for Venmo, cash, or check. This helps you keep all of your business in one spot, so your customer's request details and contact information are still in Castiron. Plus, this ensures that your Castiron calendar and "orders" tab are also up to date with the most accurate information.
Next, receive quote requests and send quotes and invoices on Castiron as you normally would. But this time, if a customer prefers to pay another way, say “yes” with confidence! Your customers can simply send a Venmo, Paypal, or Cashapp on their own accord.
When you receive payment (via check, cash, Venmo, etc.), simply change the invoice’s status to “paid” in Castiron. Just navigate to your “Quotes and Invoices” tab and select “Mark as Paid” from the Actions button in the upper right-hand corner. We will ask for the date paid and the payment method to help you keep track of the details. We’ll even provide your customers with a payment confirmation email, should you want to send one!
