My Story

Hi, I’m Amy — the heart behind Appalachian Baking Co. I’ve lived in the Appalachian Mountains my entire life, surrounded by the same hills, people, and traditions that shaped who I am today. I grew up watching my mom, a proud Appalachian woman, share her faith and love through the food she made in her own kitchen. Every meal she prepared was more than just food — it was an act of care, community, and faith. In August of 2015, my sweet mom lost her battle with pancreatic cancer. Though she’s no longer here, her legacy of love, strength, and faith continues to inspire me every day. In the winter of 2024, I started Appalachian Baking Co. to carry on her legacy and share that same spirit through my baking. Each recipe I create is inspired by the flavors, memories, and stories of our Appalachian roots — with a little twist of my own. What began as a one-woman dream has grown into a true family effort. My sister, Nancy, brings her incredible skill and heart to every pie and cheesecake she makes, and my niece, Isabella, blesses us with her talent as our cake artist, creating beautiful designs that taste just as amazing as they look. Together, we’re proud to share a piece of our family’s story with every dessert we bake. I’m blessed to live, love, and raise my family right here among my customers and neighbors. My greatest hope is that every bite you take reminds you of home, faith, and the beauty of our mountains.
